Is Helsing Exterminators the Next Chapter of Daylight to Dark? 

Jake C. Young teases a possible return to No Man’s County — and this time, vampires may be the least of Jonah Van Helsing’s problems.

It looks like Jake C. Young — also known onscreen as Jake Eastwood — may not be finished with the world of Daylight to Dark just yet. Young recently shared a mysterious teaser image on social media featuring his Daylight to Dark character alongside a blood-red neon sign reading “Helsing Exterminators.” The image carries one particularly intriguing tagline:

“First it was vampires… now it’s all of them.”

Young stopped short of officially announcing a new film, captioning the post: “Not saying this is going to happen… just saying this is what it would look like if it did.”
Naturally, that was more than enough to get people talking. A New Direction for Jonah Van Helsing?

The teaser appears to suggest a potential expansion of the horror-western world established in Daylight to Dark: No Man’s County, with Young’s character stepping into the spotlight for an adventure of his own. The concept behind Helsing Exterminators appears to trade the original film’s straightforward vampire hunting for something considerably bigger. If the tagline is any indication, Jonah Van Helsing may have expanded his operation beyond bloodsuckers and into the extermination of just about anything supernatural.

The poster itself certainly isn’t taking the concept too seriously.

Rather than presenting Van Helsing as a dark, brooding monster hunter, the image shows him in a cowboy hat, bright Hawaiian shirt and cigar, sitting beneath the glowing sign for what looks suspiciously like the world’s least reputable supernatural pest-control company.

And that may tell us everything we need to know about the potential project. Horror, Westerns and a Healthy Dose of Comedy.

While no official plot details have been released, Helsing Exterminators looks positioned to lean heavily into horror-comedy territory.

There’s an almost throwback quality to the idea: a larger-than-life monster hunter, an increasingly ridiculous collection of supernatural threats and a protagonist who looks like he’d be just as likely to complain about mileage reimbursement as he would to fight a demon.

Think old-school creature features colliding with action-comedy and western attitude.

It’s also an interesting way to expand Daylight to Dark without simply repeating the original film. Instead of another vampire story, Helsing Exterminators could potentially turn Jonah Van Helsing into the connective tissue for an entire series of supernatural adventures.

Vampires were apparently just the beginning.

Audiences Are Already Responding Perhaps most interesting is the response to what was technically only a proof-of-concept.

The teaser accumulated thousands of views within days of being posted, with followers quickly jumping into the comments to show their support for the idea. One response perhaps summed up the reaction best:

“20/10 would fund.”

That’s a pretty enthusiastic response for a movie that hasn’t actually been announced.

Yet.

So, Is Helsing Exterminators Really Happening? For now, the answer appears to be: maybe. Young has made it clear that the image is a concept rather than an official production announcement. There are currently no confirmed production dates, casting announcements or release plans attached to Helsing Exterminators.

But filmmakers don’t usually create neon signs for ideas they’re completely uninterested in.

Whether this becomes a feature film, a continuation of Daylight to Dark, or something else entirely remains to be seen.

One thing is certain, though:

If Jonah Van Helsing does open the doors to Helsing Exterminators, vampires won’t be the only things that need to start worrying.
